  | about project art | May 16, 2007 |
Project Art is an outfit that specializes in curatorial services and exhibition management. Its mission is to create and curate exhibitions that will engage public interest through well-designed presentations of ideas and objects. Project Art also offers a unique service called "art concierge" which provides support for artists, art enthusiasts and galleries. These include research, grant proposal writing, press releases, and documentation among many others. Behind this venture are sparring partners Susan A. de Guzman and Giselle P. Kasilag. Susan is a freelance writer who, despite quitting her post as associate editor of the Village Voice to be a full-time slacker, seems to always find something to do. When not out in the garden trying to prove she has a green thumb, this self-confessed rat pack makes scrapbooks and tends to her postcard and ballerina collections. She can't live without television and books. Years ago, she enrolled in the masteral museum studies program of the University of the Philippines and fervently hopes she can finish it one day soon. She once worked with the Philippine Daily Inquirer and considers being chosen as a fellow of the United States-based World Press Institute one of the highlights of her life. Gik is a freelance writer and certified couch potato who spends most of her waking hours shuttling between HBO and the National Geographic Channel. On the rare occasions that she ventures outdoors, she roams the streets of Manila in search of books and unusual dining places. When the adventure bug bites, she can also be found bungee-jumping or swimming with whale sharks. She is struggling to complete her masteral degree in art studies major in museum studies, at the University of the Philippines. In her past life, she served as a lifestyle reporter for the BusinessWorld and a lifestyle editor for Today. Once upon a time, she also managed to snag the first prize for the Australia-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Awards for Outstanding Journalism. I met Susan at the old Inquirer office in Intramuros through Mozart Pastrano, and of course Ige and his Tomato Graphics, Sid H. at CCP.
Nice to get updated too that the La Salle Gallery has gotten a new look.
More power to the team behind Project Art. Hope to also find Control P here soon. May the blessings be !
